Tonight saw Donald Trump and Kamala Harris attempt to win over voters in crucial states – Georgia and Michigan.

There’s a little over a month until the election on 5 November, with both candidates working hard to convince Americans to turn out for them.

Voters will be aware of Donald Trump’s reported wealth as they head to the polls in November.

But the reality of the tycoon-turned-politician’s earnings has been called into question after a civil court ruled he had exaggerated his wealth for years.

The financial statuses of Mr Trump’s running mate JD Vance and their Democratic rivals Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have also been the subject of scrutiny in the lead-up to the 5 November election.

But just how much are the candidates worth, how have they accumulated their wealth and how much will they get paid if they win the election?

“The election is here,” says Kamala Harris, reminding her supporters that ballots are going out and that early voting starts in late October in Michigan.

She tells the crowd to “energise, organise and mobilise” and remember “your vote is your voice and your voice is your power”.

Ms Harris finishes her speech by asking: “Do we believe in freedom? Do we believe in opportunity? Do we believe in the promise of America? And are we ready to fight for it?”

She then shakes the hands of some nearby supporters before making her way off the stage.

There it is again.

Kamala Harris’s favourite rallying cry gets a huge reception in Flint.

She references Donald Trump having a “concept of a plan” to deal with healthcare.

Ms Harris says this could see the US return to a time when insurance companies could deny people with pre-existing medical conditions.

“Do you remember what that was like?” she asks the crowd.

“Well, Michigan, we are not going back!”

Kamala Harris has just stopped her speech to call for medical attention to a supporter in the crowd.

It’s unclear what was wrong with the person.

Ms Harris asked members of the audience to part so that medics could through.

After being told he was OK, she said: “He’s OK? That’s good. We’ve got each other.”

During her campaign speech in Wisconsin yesterday, Kamala Harris spent a lot of time focused on her opponent Donald Trump.

Today, she’s focusing on what she can do for US citizens if she becomes president next month.

She speaks about bringing manufacturing “back to America” by creating new jobs and investing in both American industry and workers, calling small business owners the “backbone” of the economy.

She promises that if elected, she would raise the start-up deduction from $5,000 to $50,000 to help people start their small business.

Ms Harris references the “solid jobs report” released this morning, which shows the country added 254,000 jobs last month.

“I will make sure that America, not China, wins the competition for the 21st century,” she adds.

“Under my plan, we will invest in the industries that built America. Like iron, like steel, like the great American auto industry.

“We will ensure the next generation of breakthroughs, from advanced batteries to electric vehicles, are not only invented but built by Americans right here in America.”

She says she will invest in communities like Flint, which Ms Harris says helped build the American auto industry.

She also promises to create jobs that do not require a college degree, “because we understand a college degree is not the only measure of when a worker has skills and experience to get the job done”.

Kamala Harris starts by reminding the crowd that there are just 32 days left until the US election.

Coincidentally, she adds, that’s the same number that previous speaker Magic Johnson wore on the back of his shirt during his basketball career.

“With your help in November, we will win. We’re not playing around,” she tells the crowd.

Kamala Harris has now taken to the stage in Flint, Michigan.

She walks out, as is customary during this campaign, to Freedom by Beyonce.

“Good evening Michigan, it’s good to be back,” she says.

Continuing her tour of Michigan, the vice president is shortly going to speak in front of a large crowd in Flint.

Basketball legend Magic Johnson is the latest in a series of speakers to take the stage ahead of her arrival to endorse her.

In case you missed it, Melania Trump last night shared a video on X which appears to reveal her support for abortion rights – ahead the release of her upcoming memoir.

The former first lady defended women’s “individual freedoms” to do what they want with their bodies – a position at odds with much of the Republican Party and her own husband, who has struggled to find a consistent message on abortion.

“Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard,” she said in the video.

“Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth: individual freedom. What does ‘my body, my choice’ really mean?”

Kamala Harris campaign spokesperson Sarafina Chitika said: “Sadly for the women across America, Mrs Trump’s husband firmly disagrees with her and is the reason that more than one in three American women live under a Trump Abortion Ban that threatens their health, their freedom, and their lives.”

Mr Trump has previously boasted that during his term, a federal law enshrining abortion rights across the US was overturned by the Supreme Court, to which he appointed three of the nine justices.

“Donald Trump has made it abundantly clear: If he wins in November, he will ban abortion nationwide, punish women, and restrict women’s access to reproductive health care,” said Ms Chitika.

Mr Trump on Tuesday said he would veto a federal abortion ban, the first time he has explicitly said so after previously refusing to answer questions on the subject.
