Real Madrid is seeking to offload Rodrygo Goes for 70 million euros after the 2023/24 season.

A story from the Spanish news site Defensa Central says Rodrygo Goes might not stay at Real Madrid after the 2023–24 season. It’s possible that the Merengues will sell the failing 22-year-old in the summer of 2024. And they will ask for about €70 million to get rid of him next year.

 

Rodrygo Goes hasn’t lived up to his full promise since he moved from Santos FC to Real Madrid four years ago. The Brazilian player spent most of his childhood and formative years in his home country, where he became known as the next big thing in his country. Some experts even thought he could play better than Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid.

In spite of this, Rodrygo’s work hasn’t improved nearly as much as he would have liked. In the last four years, the 22-year-old has gone on and off, so he hasn’t proven himself to be Real Madrid’s first-choice player. Since Karim Benzema left, the pressure is on him even more this term.

 

Most of the time, Real Madrid has used Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, and Rodrygo as their forwards. But while Bellingham has been amazing and did great in El Clasico, Vinicius and Rodrygo have not been up to par. You can look at the first one’s past work and understand why he had a slow start to the season.The other man, though, doesn’t have that. In 14 games, he has only scored two goals and set up one — not very good. Also, the fact that Carlo Ancelotti has taken him out of the starting group once doesn’t come as a surprise. Now, he might be leaving during the summer move window of 2024.

According to the story, Real Madrid will ask around €70 million to get rid of Rodrygo, which would mean they would make a lot of money by selling him. The way Los Blancos act might come as a surprise. But Endrick is coming next year, and Kylian Mbappe is their main goal, so the Merengues may need to make room in the attack.

 

Also, Rodrygo may have no trouble finding a suitor—recent rumors say Liverpool is interested in signing him. The Reds see him as one of the possible replacements for Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian player leaves Anfield next year. But it’s not clear if Liverpool or anyone else will be able to pay Real Madrid’s €70 million asking price for the failing 22-year-old.
