LOSING FAITH: Denmark’s Euro 2024 dreams were dashed as Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund struggled to find their rhythm, leading to a 2-0 defeat against Germany in the round of 16.

Denmark is leaving the Euro 2024 tournament, and Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen are having a hard time.

Denmark lost 2-0 to Germany and was knocked out of Euro 2024 in the round of 16. Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund were unable to find their form with the team.

After a tough first half, Denmark looked determined, not letting Germany’s attacking team score even though the hosts were mostly ahead.

There were five minutes left in the half when it looked like the Danes had taken an odd lead against the run of play. Eriksen took a beautiful free kick and swung the ball to Jannik Vestergaard, who knocked it to the other side of the penalty area. VAR said that Joachim Andersen was offside when he scored the goal, even though the ball was in the net.

The fact that Eriksen made three important passes in this one play shows how involved he was in his team’s attack. Aside from those few times, Eriksen had trouble keeping his accuracy. He only completed 70% of his passes (35/50), including just one of six crosses and two of three long balls.

Eriksen wasn’t very physical, and he lost the only fight he fought during the game. He also lost the ball 22 times, more than any other player on either team.

Hojlund did a little better physically, but he still wasn’t very good. He won only four of nine ground duels and two of four aerial battles. On eleven different times, he also lost the thing.

Even though he only touched the ball 30 times, the striker completed an amazing 11 of 14 passes. Of course, he couldn’t try any crosses or long balls, which is understandable since he was the goal man.

Hojlund had his fair share of chances to score goals. Even though he took four shots, most of them were wasted.

Hojlund had two shots on goal, but he missed one big chance in the end.

After getting on the end of a cross and getting past the German defenders, Hojlund was one-on-one with the custodian. He was standing just to the left of the goalposts, but he didn’t take advantage of the large amount of room he had by shooting straight at the custodian and making his job as easy as possible.

Danmark’s star player was able to make one hit, but defending wasn’t really his job, especially since he wasn’t really threatening the goal.

It was a bad night for both Eriksen and Hojlund; their performances were all over the place. They should work on learning and fixing their mistakes as they get ready to go back to Manchester United for the start of the new season.
