La Liga Real Madrid’s plan to deal with the loss of Toni Kroos has been revealed here.
Midfield icon Kroos has decided to bring an end not only to his playing time with Real Madrid but also to his career this summer. Despite being just 34 years old, the German player has chosen to exit the game on his own terms, at the peak of his career.
Kroos continued to play a crucial role in the Spanish capital in the previous season, thus leaving a void in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the 2024/2025 season. Sources in the media have hinted that they may seek a replacement in the transfer market. However, Real Madrid appears to have other plans. The club is confident that Kroos’ perfect successor is already within their ranks. According to reports from Diario AS: “Madrid will not look for another Kroos in the market. The solution lies at home, with the support of Federico Valverde. Alongside Kroos’ numbers, Valverde will inherit some of his responsibilities.”
Impressing deeply with his game control at the Copa America, Uruguayan player Valverde is set to take over the midfield reins for Los Blancos this summer. A star of Real Madrid, he sets the pace in Bielsa’s Uruguay midfield—a player developed into perfection by Bielsa, a blend of passion and technical ability. In the quarterfinals, despite Brazil boasting talented midfielders like Bruno Guimaraes, Joao Gomes, Douglas Luiz, and Lucas Paqueta, Federico Valverde rose above them all to help La Celeste reach the semifinals. The Real Madrid star was omnipresent in midfield, tracking loose balls, surging forward to intercept and secure the defense against Brazil’s attacks.
Most recently, Uruguay secured third place in the Copa America after defeating Canada in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw in regulation time. Rodrigo Bentancur put Uruguay ahead, but Canada equalized through goals from Kone and Jonathan David. Suarez then leveled the score in the second half of extra time, sending the match to penalties. Suarez, Federico Valverde, Giorgian de Arrascaeta, and Bentancur all successfully converted their penalties for Uruguay. Valverde played in nearly all 6 matches, contributing 1 goal in their journey to claim the bronze medal.
While Kroos’ shadow looms large, Federico Valverde himself is a champion and must assume this responsibility if he truly aims to reach new heights in his career.
