Press in Spain was especially harsh on Jude Bellingham after Real Madrid’s embarrassing 4-0 loss at home to Barcelona.
This season, Bellingham still hasn’t scored a goal for Real. That’s a big change from his first season with the club, when he scored 23 goals across all categories.
While playing against Barcelona, the England player really wanted to score but couldn’t because his team lost badly.
All four of Barcelona’s goals came in the second half. Robert Lewandowski scored twice, and then Lamine Yamal and Raphinha made things worse for Real Madrid.
Marca thinks there is only one person to blame for Bellingham’s problems.
Marca says that Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, is to blame for not putting Bellingham in the right place.
The newspaper said that Bellingham’s work ethic couldn’t be questioned, but they also pointed out that he is sometimes playing as a full-back, which isn’t helping his games.
As Juan Ignacio Garcia-Ochoa wrote in Marca, Bellingham is not the same player who made a big splash last season at The Bernabeu. And it’s not his fault; it’s how he’s being handled.
“It needs to be looked into seriously why a player who scored almost twenty goals last year hasn’t scored any since the beginning of November.”
The newspaper, on the other hand, had nothing but good things to say about Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.
This 17-year-old player was on Spain’s Euro 2024 winning team and isn’t scared of the big stage. He scored against Real Madrid.
She wrote about Yamal, “He is a chosen one.” He showed it at the Euros, showed it again at the start of the League, and proved it at the Bernabeu.
“He wasn’t playing his best, but three shots were enough to stop Bernabeu.”
His goal with his right foot made it clear that he meant business: Madrid is going to have a tough time with him.
