“I told him to leave Man City every day,” Dani Carvajal said about his efforts to convince Spanish teammate Rodri to sign with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid is lacking a midfield player after Toni Kroos retired at the end of the previous campaign, and they may be looking to sign one. Now, Carvajal has disclosed that he has been unsuccessful in persuading Rodri, his Spain teammate, to quit City in order to play in the 15-time Champions League.
Carvajal stated in an interview with El Partidazo de COPE: “Yes, without a doubt, I tell him every day to come to Madrid because we need you and you are from here in Madrid; leave Manchester, there is no sun.
“Yes, well, I have a contract; there are no clauses here,” he responds. It makes me hesitate, it makes me wait, but it’s definitely the signing. Being Spanish, I believe it would fit in Madrid just right.”One of the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or this year is Rodri, who has shown to be one of the best defensive midfielders in recent years. The Spaniard has four Premier League titles under his belt in addition to an FA Cup and one Champions League.
UP NEXT FOR RODRI AND CARVAJAL?The Spanish team will now play England in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday, July 14. Following a little break, Rodri and Carvajal will split up to focus on their preseason preparations.
