Fede Valverde is set to inherit the coveted No. 8 shirt from his idol, Toni Kroos.
“We’ve decided on it,” Valverde says, presumably revealing his new phone number.
“I would adore donning number eight. Federico Valverde told Marca, “We discussed this, I had a conversation with Toni [Kroos] about this.”

“I don’t care about the stats; what matters to me is that Kroos wants me to wear it. I think he has done a great job,” the Uruguayan continued.
Valverde has therefore verified the ɾumor that he will wear number eight in the upcoming season. The iconic jersey number will be up for grabs this summer, after Kroos’ retirement.
This season, Fede has played a lot closer to Toni and less offensively than usual. For Real Madrid this season, he has eight assists and three goals.
