Alphonso Davies sent a message to Real Madrid, discussing his future amid the club’s interest.
Alphonso Davies has come on leaps and bounds since joining Bayern Munich from Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2019. A budding talent when he arrived in Germany, he has developed into a prolific left-back at breakneck speed.
The Canadian international has been a key factor for the Bundesliga champions over the past half decade, including a treble in the 2019/20 season. He appeared 180 times for Bayern Munich, scoring 9 goals and providing 28 assists. But the 23-year-old faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena ahead of the summer transfer window.
Real wants Davies.
Davies enters the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich and negotiations over a new contract are not progressing much. That attracted the attention of some big clubs across Europe. However, Davies’ most likely destination could be Real Madrid.
Accordingly, Los Blancos have been interested in Davies for a long time. This summer, Real Madrid will look to replace Mendy with Davies, with personal terms not an issue for either side.
According to Fichajes, Real Madrid will pay up to 45 million euros to sign the 23-year-old left-back.
However, Davies personally is not in a hurry to decide his future: “I’m sorry, but I’m focusing on my national team to go far in this European Cup.
I have all my energy here and when this tournament is over we will see what happens.”
