Tchouameni is set to play center back for Real Madrid next season.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti has identified Aurelien Tchouameni’s potential as a center-back and is planning to use him regularly in this position in the upcoming season.

Last season, on several occasions when Real Madrid faced defensive crises, Coach Carlo Ancelotti deployed Aurelien Tchouameni as a center-back. The French player fulfilled his duties admirably in this role.

Ancelotti has been pleased with what his young player has shown. According to Marca, he intends to regularly utilize Tchouameni as a center-back in the 2024/25 season.

This is considered a fairly feasible plan. During the summer transfer window of 2024, Real Madrid’s priority is not to upgrade the center-back position. Currently, Ancelotti does not have many quality options at his disposal. Nacho Fernandez is aging, while David Alaba is recovering from a serious injury and may not return until 2025. Furthermore, Real Madrid’s midfield is also quite crowded at the moment. Transitioning Tchouameni to play as a center-back could ensure more playing time for him in the upcoming season.

Tchouameni recently reached the semi-finals of Euro 2024 with the French national team. He will now take some time off before joining Real Madrid for the new season preparations.
