Denmark rushed the field in the first few minutes of the game, and the ball rolled nearly exclusively to Slovenia’s side. Denmark controlled the ball for up to 74% of the time.

However, Slovenia had the first threatening opportunity, with striker Benjamin Sesko firing a risky shot from outside the penalty area. Unfortunately, the ball just missed the goal.

Following Slovenia’s squandered opportunity, Denmark’s attack was very well organised, and Jonas Wind played a fantastic backheel ball for Christian Eriksen to score Denmark’s first goal, 1-0, in the 17th minute.

After conceding a goal, Slovenia began to press forward in pursuit of an equaliser. They generated a number of scenarios that posed challenges for the Danish defence. Andraz Sporar broke the offside trap in the 30th minute after receiving a long pass across the line from a teammate, but his ball control was poor.

Denmark dominated the second half, creating numerous frightening possibilities. Rasmus Hojlund struck from close range in the 65th minute. Slovenia’s custodian, Jan Oblak, produced a superb save. Slovenia answered exactly two minutes later with a fantastic attack, but Adam Gnezda Cerin’s close-range header was inaccurate.

Slovenia received a very dangerous ball from a direct free kick in the 74th minute, but Andraz Sporar missed it despite being less than 5 metres from the opponent’s goal. In the 76th minute, Benjamin Sesko unleashed a thundering long-range drive that left the Danish custodian defenceless, but it hit the right post and rebounded out.

While Slovenian fans were still disappointed, they equalised 1-1 with a corner kick. Erik Janza unleashed a strong shot after his teammate’s cross, hitting a Danish player and changing direction, leaving custodian Kasper Schmeichel powerless. This was the match’s final score.
