Following Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League semifinal appearance, Jadon Sancho spearheaded the celebrations in the locker room.

Tuesday night, in the second leg of their semifinal matchup with PSG, Sancho was instrumental in his team’s elimination of Kylian Mbappe and company. The visitors prevailed 1-0 at home courtesy of a header from seasoned defender Mats Hummels.

Dortmund prevailed 2-0 overall as a result of the result, and manager Edin Terzic celebrated the German team’s two flawless defensive performances during the match.

Sancho, who earned several experts’ nicknames for Player of the Match for his performance in the first leg in Dortmund last week, put on a more subdued show this time around, frequently dropping back to support his team defensively as they advanced to their first final since 2011.

The Manchester United player also didn’t hold back when it came to venting his frustrations; a video taken inside the away dressing room shows the winger at the center of the team’s celebrations.

The official Borussia Dortmund account posted a video to Instagram in which Sancho is seen holding a big speaker while the other players cheer him on and sing Adele’s “Someone Like You.”

With some too exhausted to stand and others taking a break and consuming various beverages, the team is in full voice.

After a brief pause, the camera pans to show Sancho approaching the center table while holding his phone in one hand and the speaker in the other.

He can frequently be seen around the table, giving his teammates hugs, and raising his arms to the heavens while still belting out Adele’s song.

Current teammates of the 24-year-old can be seen giggling and recording Sancho’s antics as they appreciate the humorous side of the midfield player’s play.

After a fairly remarkable loan from United that started in January, Sancho’s match against Dortmund in the Champions League final may be his last for the team. Dortmund manager Edin Terzic has been reticent to talk about a potential permanent deal for Sancho prior to Tuesday’s match.

Following a public argument with manager Erik ten Hag, Sancho was kicked off the first squad and made to train with players from the minor team while refusing to accept responsibility for his actions.

After Ten Hag openly questioned Sancho’s training standards, Sancho effectively called the Dutchman a liar on social media, and even though he still has two years left on his Old Trafford contract, Sancho’s career at United now seems all but gone.

After a lackluster season leading the team, Ten Hag is under increasing pressure. Rio Ferdinand, in an interview with TNT Sports, hinted that Sancho would have a path back to Manchester in the event that Ten Hag were to depart the team.

“I believe that the only way he can return is if Erik ten Hag isn’t present,” Ferdinand remarked. “I don’t think they can undercut the manager without an apology; I think Sancho can’t return to Manchester United until the manager is fired.”

“If you pair him with the players, there is the potential to grow them into something really big,” co-pundit Owen Hargreaves continued. Jadon ought to be thrilled to be included in that since he may be a part of it.

Sancho had also participated in the on-field festivities at the Parc des Princes, where players from Dortmund had hurried to the opposing end of the stadium when the final whistle blew.

In honor of their supporters, the players donned shirts that said “yellow wall,” and the club was given the same moniker on Tuesday due to their strong defensive play.

Ferdinand had contended that Sancho’s achievement this season would be questioned by INEOS, the new United minority ownership group led by billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

After joining United on a £73 million loan from the German team in 2021, he had struggled in a United shirt. Now, however, he is back in the Champions League final.

“He needs to keep up his good form because he really puts pressure on Manchester United,” Ferdinand stated. “INEOS, the people in the background, will be questioning why that isn’t occurring in a United shirt.”

After having in-person discussions with Sancho, United plans to try to sell him this summer, as Mail Sport reported earlier this week.

Three years ago, Sancho joined United and has since made 82 appearances for the team, tallying 12 goals and dishing out six assists.
