100% DONE: Man United have accepted a bid for Leny Yoro, who is now negotiating salary terms with the club, while Real Madrid falls behind in the race.

Although Manchester United has lately made one summer acquisition, they are now hunting further deals to raise Erik ten Hag’s performance.

Just hours before England’s Euro 2024 final sorrow, on Sunday Manchester United received their first incoming transaction of the summer.

United verified the arrival of forward Joshua Zirkzee, drawing the Dutch national away from Bologna.

Having shown actual ability in Serie A, Zirkzee marks an interesting signing for United and will be expected to partner Rasmus Hojlund up top.

Work for further deals must now go on, but United’s centre backs take front stage.

Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich wants to sign for United, hence it would be shocking if that deal falls through in the next weeks.

Still, United has other goals in mind, and one of them is headed straight for the top.

Leny Yoro to Manchester United Newest Lille wonderkid Leny Yoro has become a major focus for United over the past week.

Last week’s reports from France indicated that Lille had turned down a bid from United for Yoro of roughly £42 million, however negotiations on a transaction have been sluggish.

That is because Yoro is eager to sign for Real Madrid and team with fellow French players Ferland Mendy, Edouard Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Kylian Mbappe.

Like they did for Mbappe, Real could be ready to wait until Yoro walks out of contract next summer.

That puts United in a difficult situation; Fabrizio Romano has provided an update.

Romano says that, considering the riches on the table, Lille’s president Olivier Letang is advocating Yoro signing for United.

Although Romano adds on Instagram that Real’s offer is “still lower” than United’s, Yoro’s inclination is still to sign for Real; the Spanish giants “are calm and confident about a deal”.

It’s now up to Yoro; hold out for Real and irritate Lille in the process, or leap to United and give up on Real.

Liverpool out of the Yoro raceLiverpool, United’s bitter rivals, have whispered of interest.

Under Arne Slot, the Reds are starting a new chapter and have been connected as a Yoro destination.

But as things stand, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg says Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are “out of the race”.

Plettenberg thinks the race is only based on Real or United, thus Yoro has two choices.

Yoro still has to make that call, but United will at least be relieved to learn that a Liverpool move seems doubtful.

One thing would be missing out to Real, but seeing Yoro go Liverpool would have truly hurt for United.

Real and United are now engaged in a straight struggle, leaving Erik ten Hag and co to wait patiently – maybe in hope rather than expectation.
