June is Christmas time!
The trailer for the holiday action-adventure film “Red One,” starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, and J.K. Simmons as Saint Nick, has been published by Amazon MGM Studios.
The official synopsis reads, “The world’s most notorious bounty hunter (Evans) teams up with the Head of Security at the North Pole (Johnson) in an action-packed, globe-trotting mission to save Christmas after Santa Claus (Simmons) – Code Name: ‘Red One’ – is kidnapped.”
In the teaser, Johnson uses some space-age Christmas technology to transform a regular Hot Wheels vehicle from a toy store into a full-sized Chevy Corvette. “You don’t own an action figure of Wonder Woman, do you?” Evans asks the cashier as he exits the establishment. “This isn’t how it works, please!” In return, Johnson lets out a bark.
Wesley Kimmel, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, Bonnie Hunt, Kiernan Shipka, and Lucy Liu are among the other cast members.
Johnson unveiled the “Red One” image on Monday morning. It looks like a wanted poster for Simmons’ Christmas character. “Everyone on the planet, take note and keep an eye out for this man. At the North Pole, last observed. Please contact the E.L.F. North Pole Command Centre at the number shown at the bottom of this official “Red One” poster if you have any information. WE REQUIRE YOUR ASSISTANCE. It’s essential to Christmas. And if you’re reading this, Nick, my friend, I’ll track you down. Johnson wrote, “Callum Drift, Commander of The E.L.F.”
The film is directed by Jake Kasdan, who was behind the “Jumanji” reboots. The screenplay was written by Chris Morgan from a story by Hiram Garcia. Hiram Garcia, Danny Garcia, Johnson, Morgan, Kasdan, and Melvin Mar are among the producers.
