The dice had been put in a cage, thrown into a courtyard and trained to die. She wouldn’t have screwed if no one had seen the 3-year-old pit bull mix; Happily, it was discovered.

In early November, police officers were issuing eviction papers in an area of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when youths alerted them to Dice, who was sitting in a cage outside a makeshift apartment.

“The tenants moved out and left him in the backyard in a cage with no food or water,” Tracey Godin, co-founder of Feeling Fine гeѕсue, based in Loxahatchee, Florida, told the Dodo. “Of course, the cops asked the kids how long the dog had been there and they responded that he had been there a week or more.”

But Dice has most likely been ignored for much longer.

“He hadn’t been fed properly for months,” Godin explained. “The last week was really the ultimate degradation.”

Officers contacted animal control, who transferred Dice to a nearby shelter. Godin’s friend, who volunteers at the shelter, saw Dice enter and photographed him. Godin was shocked and heartbroken when she received the photographs from her friend.

“It just takes your breath away,” Godin said. “I had no idea how he was still alive. My eyes went full of tears”.

The next day, Godin and his daughter Micaela rescued Dice from the shelter and rushed him to the vet.

“I couldn’t walk more than 5 or 6 feet without collapsing,” Godin explained. “We were in the vet’s parking lot, and when he took a step to get on the sidewalk, he couldn’t support the weight of his body and he shook.” “I didn’t think he would make it.”

“It weighed 30 pounds, but it should have weighed 65 pounds,” he explained. “I was very dehydrated and anemic.” There was no muscle mass on his body, and you could see his ѕkuɩɩ. His eyes were deep in her ѕkuɩɩ. From my point of view, he would not have suffered if he had been in that cage another day.”

He says he came to live at Feeling Fine гeѕсue, which Godin and his daughter do from their home, once he was healthy enough to go to the vet. They were both impressed by Dice’s quick return.

“He grew 10 pounds in a week,” Godin added. “He gained 40 pounds in a week.” He was 50 pounds two weeks later and 65 pounds at the weekend. Every day, you could see the difference in the dog.

“It’s absolutely amazing to see how a dog can go through so much at the hands of people and… be immediately ready to love and trust new people,” said Dodo’s Micaela Godin. “She says he has been the most affectionate dog since the day we met him.” he has a fantastic reputation.”

Dice’s good luck continued. In late December, he sparked the interest of a family looking for a third dog.

“They fell in love with him the moment they saw him,” Tracey Godin explained. “They paid him many visits.” “They asked if they could meet and greet with their two current dogs at their ргЀггtу.”

Not only did Dice get along well with the family’s two other canines, but he also bonded with his two young children during the encounter. Dice was placed with the family in a foster arrangement two weeks later.

But, just a few days later, the family decided Dice should stay.

“They contacted me last night and said, ‘We’re more in love with him than we were the first time we met, and we would never want to bring him back,'” Tracey Godin explained. “He was crying because this family is just fantastic… and he says he couldn’t have gone to a better home.”

He says, on the other hand, he seems to be aware of how lucky he is right now.

“The family tells me how quickly he acclimated, like he’s been there forever,” Tracey Godin said. “One of the kids came home from school yesterday and said, ‘I’m glad you’re here, he says, you’re not coming back to the rescue.’” I really missed you when he was at school.”

“We save a lot of dogs, and they all have stories, and they all come from such fantastic backgrounds,” Micaela Godin explained. “However, Dice is resilient in the speed and grace with which she recovered.” He is incredibly lucky and has managed to get through this and come out on the other side so quickly and effectively. “It was definitely a mistake,” I tell him.
