Johnson has three daughters — Simone, 21, Jasmine, 7, and Tiana, 4.
“My number one priority is my daughters,” Johnson said in a recent interview. “Sure, CEO sounds great! But the number one thing I want to be is daddy. That’s it.”
He speaks from experience. Johnson still remembers everything he missed out on in Simone’s life while he was traveling for work with WWE.
“I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years when my first daughter was growing up in this critical age at this critical time in her life,” he shared, pointing to that as his main reason for prioritizing fatherhood.
Johnson talked about being a dad more in an Instagram video.
“I know a lot of you men out there understand me when I say, of all the roles us men play in our daily hustle and grind of life – my favorite one of all, is ‘dad,’ ” he captioned the post.
Johnson continued, “I know what it’s like to have a job you love (pro wrestler) and yet it takes you away from the thing you love most (your firstborn child) from years of being on the road wrestling. I made a promise that I would never do business in anything again that took me away from my family.”
In addition to being a great father, Johnson is also dedicated to helping others. Movieguide® previously reported on an impressive donation the actor made:
The halls of 20 children’s hospitals will be a little more merry this Christmas season thanks to a generous donation partnership from Dwayne Johnson, Microsoft, Bill Gates, and Xbox.
“20 years ago my buddy Bill Gates and I debuted the very first ever @Xbox console to the world,” Johnson said in an announcement. “Now two decades later, I’m partnering up with @Microsoft once again to launch their brand new XBOX Series X to the world.
“BUT the best part about this partnership is I have the absolute privilege to deliver ONE OF A KIND ‘ROCK XBOX Series X’ consoles to 20 different children’s hospitals that will eventually reach over 50,000 KIDS!!!!” the wrestler-turned-actor said.
The custom Xbox Series X features Johnson’s iconic Brahma Bull logo representing strength, resilience, heart and power, and includes a special engraved message from “The Rock” himself: “Keep smiling and have fun. Love, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.”
“These kids are battling through their illnesses with incredible bravery and I’m thrilled @microsoft, @gamersoutreach and myself can provide some joy and smiles,” Johnson said. “You kids show me and the world, what real strength means.”
The systems will be distributed over the course of the next year at hospitals around the United States.
“We are thrilled to partner with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to bring next generation console gaming to children’s hospitals across the country and appreciate his consistent commitment to bringing joy to kids’ lives through the power of play with Xbox,” Xbox said in a release.
