A former home of NBA star Stephen Curry in the San Francisco suburbs is listing for $8.9 million.

The Golden State Warriors player and his wife, Ayesha Curry, built the six-bedroom, roughly 8,200-square-foot home, completing it about 2018, according to the current owner, Sam Hirbod.

The house is located in the community of Alamo in the East Bay, about 30 miles east of San Francisco, according to listing agent Bonnie King of Compass. The Currys and their three children moved out of the house in 2019, when the team moved from Oakland to a new stadium in San Francisco, according to Mr. Hirbod, chief executive at the investment company Eagle Canyon Capital.

Mr. Hirbod said he met Mr. Curry through a mutual friend years before the sale, and that the Currys sold him the house in an off-market 2019 deal for $6.4 million.

The roughly 1.35-acre lot has an infinity pool, a dog run, a detached gym and four garages with room for seven cars, said Mr. Hirbod. There is also a vegetable garden and a prayer garden, he said.

The house has a billiards room, separate guest and children’s wings, and a home theater with a roughly $500,000 projection and sound system, he said.

Before moving into the house, the Currys lived in another home they owned in the area, which they sold for $6.3 million in 2019, according to property records.

Mr. Hirbod said he lived at the house with his two sons but is selling because they are moving to Florida, he said.

Mr. Curry, often called the “NBA’s best shooter,” broke the NBA’s record for three pointers last year. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player has played for the Golden State Warriors since 2009, according to the NBA.

Alamo is a wealthy suburban area, Ms. King said. Roughly nine Alamo homes have sold for over $5 million in the past 12 months, compared with six in the preceding 12 months, she said.
