Sophia is a 4-year-old Cane Corso was dumped in the night drop with no information on her. Not only was she already given a hard start at the shelter without vital information given by the finder, but she also came in extremely emaciated.

The shelter has managed to bring her weight up, however she still has a long road to full recovery from the hard past she’s clearly carrying with her. Her eyes carry a sadness and heaviness, and it was one of the first things Rocky noticed passing her by at the shelter. He sits with her and wonders how no one has come to adopt her yet.

Sophia is at Animal Friends of the Valleys, and is currently on the dog walking program where volunteers say she is timid and slow to trust, but once she does, she is loyal and sweet. She also may be best with older children due to her timid nature (she has been scared of small children previously.) She also may be intimidated by men.
