Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez hugs Lionel Messi after being called up to the Argentina squad for World Cup qualifiers in October
Lisandro Martinez was called up to Brazil’s team for their World Cup qualifiers in October.
The center back wasn’t the only Manchester United player called up to the Argentina team; Alejandro Garnacho had to pull out because he hurt his knee.
Lionel Scaloni’s team has two qualification games against Venezuela and Bolivia. United fans will be hoping that Martinez doesn’t get hurt again.
Before the game against Venezuela, Martinez posted pictures of himself getting together with Lionel Messi and other Argentina players.
As you can see below from Instagram, Martinez is seen hugging the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner:
No one on Messi’s Argentina team thinks anything but the best about him, and they all seem to really like each other.
This season, Martinez has not been at his best, but that’s true of most of United’s players.
Erik ten Hag started the game with Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, and the center back, so the center back wasn’t used in the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.
Martinez was a huge loss last year because he was hurt for most of the season.
We want him to start playing the way we expect him to as soon as possible.
