There is talk that Manchester United might try to get Reinildo for a cheap price, but Aston Villa will fight them.
The 30-year-old left back from Mozambique only has one year left on his Atletico Madrid deal.
That means he might be worth about £8 million this summer.
Reinildo went to the big clubs in La Liga from Lille in 2022, after helping Lille win Ligue 1.
But in February 2023, he tore his knee ligament, which kept him out until November.
Since he came back, he has only played 15 times for Diego Simeone’s team, so he might be cheap now.
SunSport has learned that both Manchester United and Aston Villa are interested in him.
Juve has also been keeping an eye on him for a while and could join the race to sign him.
Erik ten Hag, United’s manager, said last week that a left back could be one of their top goals. His own future at Old Trafford is still uncertain after a terrible season.
United has had a terrible season at this spot because Tyrell Malacia has been out the whole season and Luke Shaw has only been able to play 15 times because of injuries.
Ten Hag said, “Left back can play if Luke Shaw is available; he will be fit.”
“He’s already back on the field, and we expect him to be back in a few weeks. With Malacia, though, it depends on his availability.”
That means Reinildo could become a good deal for the Red Devils as an extra player to help their team.
Villa is likely to be able to offer him Champions League play, so they may miss out if Unai Emery tries to bring him to the Premier League himself.
Every possible arrival would also add a little bit to history.
If Reinildo comes to England, he will be the first big name from Mozambique to play in the Premier League.
