Thor, the dog, was discovered impaled on hundreds of spikes by his owner in Sao Paulo, Brazil. According to the images, hundreds of yellow spikes covered the golden-brown dog’s snout, forehead, nose, ears and paws.
Adriano Bertoline, an unemployed man, started an online treatment campaign when he couldn’t pay his vet bill.
A local councilman, Dr. José Roberto Apolari, stepped in to help, taking Thor to a clinic and helping with expenses.
Three-year-old Thor is believed to have fought a porcupine for the second time in a year and suffered horrific injuries.
Bertoline put out an internet appeal after finding Thor impaled on porcupine quills and asked for help to cure him.
“Good morning friends…” he posted on Twitter. I woke up this morning and discovered my dog in this condition… Is there a clinic or vet that can help him? “I’m afraid I can’t pay.”
A councilor, Dr. José Roberto Apolari, noticed the attractiveness of the dog’s owner and decided to help.
“Dr. Apolari was an angel in my dog’s life since I couldn’t afford a private vet,” Adriano said on Facebook. Now I am unemployed and have four children at home.”
According to Adriano, the councilman took the dog to the clinic, helped with the expenses, and then returned Thor home.
According to Thor’s owner, this is the dog’s second encounter with a porcupine in a year.
In February 2021, a friend of Adriano, who at the time worked at a private veterinary clinic, attended to the injured dog.
The porcupine’s condition after being attacked by the dog was not immediately known.
