Kim Menzies made her reality television debut on the fifth season of TLC’s spin-off Before the 90 Days. She had every fangirl’s dream come true. She flew all the way to meet her favorite artist, Sojaboy, also known as Usman Umar. At the time, they were not dating or in a relationship. However, he called her his “potential girlfriend.”
Eventually, the 90 Day Fiance cast member got the girlfriend title, and the two started dating. They then appeared on Happily Ever After, where they spoke about tying the knot. She asked him to marry her first. However, he eventually popped the question back. The two had plans to wed. But they weren’t on the same page when it came to having children.
Ultimately, Kim and Usman broke up and went their separate ways. However, she has dealt with many hardships since then. Thankfully, she had her son, Jamal Menzies, by her side.
Jamal followed in Kim’s footsteps and joined the reality television world. He started dating Veronica Rodriguez, and their relationship appeared on The Single Life. However, their relationship wasn’t perfect. She didn’t think he was a good communicator, and he didn’t like that she was best friends with her ex-boyfriend, Tim Malcolm.
The 90 Day Fiance: The Single Life cast member spoke about his relationship with Veronica on the reunion show. She revealed that he broke up with her via text message and with a peace sign emoji. However, he doesn’t recall that happening.
Jamal explained that he couldn’t visit Veronica because his mother, Kim, was going through a lot of “emotional stuff.” He revealed that his mother had to sell her house. He also moved from New York to California to be there for her.

The 90 Day Fiance cast member clarified the status of her new home. She explained that Jamal’s comment about her having to sell her home wasn’t about her new house. She is not losing her home. However, she had to sell her mother’s home after she passed away. It was her childhood home.
Kim also explained that Jamal was there for her because she was dealing with the hardship of losing her sister and mother a year apart. It was a lot for her. But she is “much better and happy now.”
