Dwayne is indeed a very versatile actor. He can go from playing an assassin in The Scorpion King to a sexy lifeguard in Baywatch to a tooth fairy in, you guessed it, Tooth Fairy. In the upcoming new Dwayne Johnson movie Black Adam, The Rock will be playing an antihero, a hero, or a villain, who the heck knows. Perhaps the director does, but we will see that in October later this year. So is there a single role Dwayne can’t play? I highly doubt so.
Although nothing can beat movies with the Rock, and he’s a great trouper on his own, there’s just one more strong actor combo that makes the audiences fall about with laughter. It’s the iconic Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart duo. The most notable The Rock and Kevin Hart movies are Central Intelligence and the Jumanji sequels. However, Johnson and Hart not only have the perfect chemistry on screen, but their relationship in real life is also perhaps one of the best friendships in Hollywood. Just imagine shooting a film with your best pal. Oh boy, that’s a dream, not a job!
Below, we have compiled a thorough Dwayne Johnson movies list, ranked from the best to “a little less good” (cmon, it’s Dwayne, I will not call a single movie of his the “worst”). And let’s end this excessively long intro to the list with a badass quote from The Rock himself: “When you walk up to opportunity’s door, don’t knock it. Kick that b!tch in, smile, and introduce yourself.” Enjoy the list of the best Dwayne Johnson movies!

Moana
2016 | 1 hour 47 minutes | Directed by Ron Clements, John Musker, Don Hall
Starring (voice) Dwayne Johnson, Auli’i Cravalho, Rachel House
Moana is a throwback to Disney’s classic formula, complete with clichés and characters plucked from various other animated films. The production’s sheer beauty and skill, on the other hand, elevates the old story to new heights. Easily among the best from the Disney Studio and a worthy successor to Mulan (1998). Also, perhaps one of Dwayne Johnson’s best works, despite his not being the first name that comes to mind when we think of “voice acting.”
#2
The Rundown
2003 | 1 hour 44 minutes | Directed by Peter Berg
Starring Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Christopher Walken
An absolute smash for The Rock, in which he got to use every WWE trick he had in the book. The result: The Rundown. Playing a bounty hunter is definitely a good role for him, and, oh boy, he doesn’t play around. Although The Rundown is a PG-13 action film, it plays like an R-rated action film. It’s excellent and will not disappoint any action fans who believe the genre has been lacking in recent years.
#3
Walking Tall
2004 | 1 hour 26 minutes | Directed by Kevin Bray
Starring Dwayne Johnson, Ashley Scott, Johnny Knoxville
Walking Tall is a remake of a 1973 based-on-fact film about a man who becomes sheriff and wages war on the bad guys in his town to fight corruption. The action scenes are well-crafted and provide a strong link to the plot. Unlike those in The Rock’s previous films, the fight scenes are more traditional and realistic in appearance. That being said, action junkies will find plenty to enjoy here. With The Rock getting his hands dirty and guns aplenty, there’s something for everyone.
#4
Fast & Furious 6
2013 | 2 hours 10 minutes | Directed by Justin Lin
Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson
What-a-combo. Three, actually four, let’s not forget Michelle Rodriguez, megastars in one action-driven film. How many franchises can claim to be at their peak on their sixth outing? But that’s precisely where the Fast & Furious crew is with this pure adrenaline rush. When we thought it would be difficult to top the jaw-dropping finale of Fast Five, director Justin Lin demonstrates that he has saved his best for last, as far as his directing for the franchise goes. Six films into the Fast & Furious franchise, the motto is “bigger, faster, and crazier.” Prepare to be blown away by it. If you thought the action, scale, and stunts in Fast Five were out of this world, wait until you see Fast & Furious 6.
#5
Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle
2017 | 1 hour 59 minutes | Directed by Jake Kasdan
Starring Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart
The iconic Dwayne and Kevin duo is back. This is perhaps one of the best and most entertaining action-adventure movies for various reasons. First of all, the casting. This cast is incredibly well-balanced. The group dynamics are excellent, and they’re all having hilarious back-and-forths. Dwayne Johnson’s comedic abilities are on full display in this film. While he gets a few scenes to show off his WWE maneuvers, most of his role is comedy-heavy, which he excels at. Kevin Hart plays the always hilarious comedic relief and does a fantastic job of making the audience laugh their butts off.
#6
Central Intelligence
2016 | 1 hour 47 minutes | Directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber
Starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Danielle Nicolet
Something tells me that when a film’s tagline is as witty and sharp as this one’s – “Saving the world takes a little Hart and a big Johnson” – the producers came up with the pun first and then decided to commission a script around it. This film serves as an excuse for Dwayne and Kevin to play delightfully silly characters in the context of a reasonably flimsy plot. However, it doesn’t matter because you’re not going to see this movie solely for the story. You’re going to see it for the laughs. The hit-to-miss ratio is higher than you might expect. This odd-couple buddy action comedy genuinely pops thanks to Dwayne and Kevin’s chemistry.
