The Rock is now among Hollywood’s highest-paid male actors after resigning from professional wrestling and making a spectacular career move to the movies.

However, it appears that he still possesses his competitive nature from his time in the WWE, since the celebrity is said to have a “no-lose” condition in his movie contracts to uphold his “tough guy” persona.

There is a suggestion that the no-lose clause prohibits his characters from ever losing a fight and from appearing to be unfairly punished during those fights.

Vin Diesel was supposedly the first actor to have a clause like this in his contract for the Fast and Furious film franchise, but Johnson isn’t the first actor to have one, according to the Wall Street Journal.

According to reports, Diesel developed a method whereby he assigned a number to each blow his character took on screen, and a producer who also happened to be his younger sister would subsequently total them up.

Other stars like Jason Statham and Dakota Johnson quickly copied this approach in their own contracts to make sure his “no-lose” condition was being enforced.

When Amelia Dimoldenberg of Chicken Shop Date fame and I interacted on the red carpet at the Oscars, many wondered if the clause was in effect.

Johnson agreed to play a fast game of Rock, Paper, Scissors with Dimoldenberg, but there was disagreement on when to select your weapon.

Jokingly, Johnson questioned, “What kind of bulls**t is this?” as Dimoldenberg declared her victory. The actor responded, saying she had “cheated,” and they continued their light-hearted game, which he eventually won.

“Damn, The Rock’s ‘no losing fights’ rider extends even to red carpet interviews,” someone joked in the comments.
