Many individuals would like to have a place to live rather than live on the streets. Being homeless is extremely difficult, and shelters continue to exist to assist people who are in need. However, one 65-year-old woman in Mexico has chosen to live on the streets rather than go to a shelter. Her justification? She is adamant about not abandoning her six canines.

Luz Maria Olmedo Beltran, often known as Chole, lives with her six dogs in a plastic garbage can in Tijuana. For the past eight years, she’s been surviving on the streets. Despite the fact that she is given sanctuaries, she refuses to leave her pets since they will not be accepted.

Chole, along with all of her pets, were photographed by Omar Camarillo, a local professional photographer, hiding from the rain in her garbage bag house. He documented the incident on Facebook, saying that Chole was being pressured by cops to transfer to a shelter. She was terrified of getting arrested and losing custody of her pets.

According to Bored Panda, Chole was ultimately persuaded by the officers to locate a place to stay for the night. So she gathered her pets and garbage can and pretended to go to stay with her boy.

Despite this, she was back on the streets the next day.

After Omar posted the photos and emphasized Chole’s situation, Alejandra Cordova Castro, a young animal lover, decided to enlist Chole’s assistance.

Castro took Chole blankets, socks, food, and drink with him. Chole’s dogs were on the verge of giving birth, and Castro knew that someone had to help in any way he could. She posted about it on Facebook and asked others to pitch in if they could.

Chole “thanked several times that she made me cry,” Alejandra said in her reply.

While reports circulated that Chole is paying to stay in a substandard shelter that allows her dogs, Alejandra stated she is still homeless and “does not want to relocate.” With any hope, she’ll be able to find a much more permanent living situation for herself and her dogs!
