WHAT DID FOSTER SAY?
Real Madrid, who are said to be interested, could hand the 25-year-old a lucrative signing bonus and huge wages as he will not have to pay a transfer fee. With that in mind, former England and Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster said on his YouTube channel: “You can see around £600,000 a week between [Virgil] van Dijk and Mo Salah alone, those two. Trent Alexander-Arnold, he knows that if he signs a new four, five-year contract, he’s instantly worth £100m. If someone wants to buy him when he signs a new contract, it’s going to be £100m minimum, absolutely minimum. But Trent knows that, so he can say, okay, pay me the highest salary in the Premier League and I’ll sign a new contract. And I can see that happening. He can wait for that because if he goes on a free transfer to Real Madrid, he’s going to be on £400,000, £500,000 a week, he’ll do it.”
