Magoo’s Challenges
Magoo’s journey to health and happiness began under difficult circumstances. When he first came into the care of k9.5 Rescue, his lungs were severely congested. Despite taking a course of potent antibiotics, Magoo’s condition only worsened. A CT scan and further testing revealed that he was suffering from chronic inflammatory airway disease (chronic bronchitis) and focal pneumonia. On top of these issues, Magoo also faced serious eye problems, including cataracts and potential glaucoma.
The Road to Recovery
Under the vigilant care of the k9.5 Rescue team, Magoo underwent a wide range of tests and began his treatment regimen. Initially, he was coughing a lot, but with the administration of antibiotics and prednisone, his condition started to improve significantly. Magoo stopped coughing soon into his treatment and began to return to his happy, playful self.
However, the challenges didn’t end there. Magoo’s right eye had to be removed due to severe complications, but he adapted wonderfully. He now takes daily eye drops to keep his left eye healthy and prevent glaucoma, handling his medication routine like a true champion.
A Beloved Friend
Throughout his journey, Magoo became a favorite with the vet staff. His playful and loving nature endeared him to everyone who met him. The staff couldn’t resist his charm, and he quickly became a cherished presence at the clinic.
