The weather in Istanbul, Turkey has been extremely bad lately. Temp.eratures dro.pp.ed very lo.w, heavy snowfall caused chaos, even some people [di.ed] as a result of the extreme [we.ather]. The homeless, fortunately, found shelter to avoid di.sas.ter. But across the snow-covered streets of Istanbul, stray dogs still roam and have difficulty finding food or shelter to save themselves.
To prevent [tr.age.dy] from happening, kind-hearted men rescued [a.ban.doned] dogs so they wouldn’t be [h.arm.ed] by bad weather.
One of them, Alі Cеlіk, shared with “The Dodо” his idea for the rescue operation.
The campaign started while Ali was on his way to work. He walks through a snow-covered urban area where a pack of stray dogs is taking shelter outside a closed shopping mall. He realized they weren’t the only ones. The stray dogs in this city are [su.ffe.ring] from extreme [we.ather] with nothing to warm them but themselves.
The photo Ali took of dogs outside a shopping mall went viral on social media and was the perfect tactic to start a campaign to rescue stray dogs in the city of Istanbul.
People gather to provide the stray dogs with food and a sleeping mat made of cardboard. These kind-hearted people helped the dogs through heavy snowfalls.
They feel great about helping unfortunate dogs. As the campaign became popular, even some businesses and shops were willing to welcome wildlife to shelter from the cold. It is a priceless miracle for unfortunate lives. Good deeds are spread and many lives are saved.
