The time has come to take a quick break from wondering where Kate Middleton is and direct your attention to Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department because this just in: The album casually has seven (7) explicit tracks. I’ll give you a moment to process!
Btw, the songs in question include the following: “The Tortured Poets Department,” “Down Bad,” “But, Daddy, I Love Him,” “Florida!!!,” “loml,” “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.”
Obviously, no one but Taylor knows what/who any of these songs are about at this point, but fans have reason to believe “But Daddy I Love Him” could have something to do with Harry Styles. Soooo, read into that explicit rating how you will!
A quick recap in case you missed this!!! detail from several weeks ago: “But, Daddy, I love him” is a line from Disney’s original animated film The Little Mermaid, which came out in 1989 (aka the year Taylor was born). And we know the singer is a fan:
But there’s also a strong Harry Styles connection thanks to the rumors he’d be playing Eric in the live-action film *and* because of a forever iconic snap of him wearing this shirt:
Meanwhile, fans who don’t think “But Daddy I Love Him” is straight-up about Harry (whom Taylor dated for a few months between November 2012 and January 2013) think there’s a good chance he could be featured on the song.
This honestly seems like a reach, but, hey…Swifties have reached higher and been right, so we won’t be discounting this possibility till we see liner notes!
