Twitter was set aflame after some rumors surfaced that LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, was sliding into the DMs of Larsa Pippen, after liking one of her photos. The rumors were the result of false reporting by Black Sports Online, and everyone who was linked with the rumors has categorically denied them. Fake news needed to be called out, and a lot of people did just that.
Some of those people were some of the closest people to Bronny. His parents, LeBron and Savannah James came to their son’s defense on social media. At the end of the day, Bronny James is a minor: he hasn’t even graduated high school yet. To start random rumors about a kid is revolting. Hoop Central reported on what the parents in the James family said. They also mentioned that Larsa Pippen also categorically denied the fraudulent claims.
Needless to say, there is no plausible foundation for these rumors. Likes do not infer any relations: people like celebrity photos all the time. With the prevalence of fake news today, we must be careful to do our own research and respond when someone shares false information. Luckily for Bronny, he has a great support network, and it seems that his parents are going to take the fight to the people who started this whole mess.
While this is a messy situation, it looks like there will be justice served. LeBron James seemed to infer that Savannah would come after whoever started these rumors, and Larsa Pippen stated that she was going to sue BSO for his ‘disgusting lies’. Hopefully, there will be less irresponsible reporting in the future, and people do more research before jumping to conclusions.
