Natalie Olivieri, an experienced dog rescuer, said Harpe was extremely scared and had suffered severe abuse. Harper was found by Olivieri in the vast expanse of Redland, Florida (commonly known as “Redlands”). Olivieri, who is vice president of Furever Bully Love Rescue, a rescue organization based in Orlando, discovered Harper in this region. According to Olivieri, this area is often used as a dumping ground for dogs, where they are abandoned without taking into account their well-being.

Redland Rock Pit Abandoned Dog Project is another charity that provides food to stray dogs in Redlands on a daily basis. Jessie Pena, who holds the position of vice president in the group, revealed that they use around 350 libras of kibble to feed approximately 100 dogs. Unfortunately, there are still more dogs that need assistance than can be cared for.

According to Pena, the number of dogs in our area is quite high, but our coverage is limited since Redland Island is extensive. In February of last year, Furever Bully Love Rescue collaborated with Redland Rock PiT to raise funds for food for children and to support some dogs residing in the town. Olivieri and three other volunteers from Furever Bully Love Rescue traveled to Redands to connect with volunteers from the other charity.

Olivieri had an unforgettable experience recently. He recounted the moment they arrived at an isolated place that would have been impossible to find without help. Redland Rocк Pit volunteers set up tables and started to be served, and while they were doing it, some dogs started to appear. That’s when they encountered Harper, a hound mix that is estimated to have lived in the field for about five months and that volunteers saw on their previous visits to Redlands.

According to Olivieri, when Harper arrived, she was accompanied by five other periods, and Harper’s arrival caused her to fall into sleep in terror. Harper had scars on her head and back and was very afraid of others. Olivieri claimed that Harper had undoubtedly been mistreated and ignored, and leaving her there was not an option. Although the scouts were able to put a rope around Harper’s neck, she refused to move when they tried to return to the truck. Olivieri commented: “We had to get Harper.” Harper and two other Redlands dogs were taken to the vet for a full examination when Olivieri and the other Furever Bully Love Rescue volunteers returned to Oalando. Harper was treated for anemia, worms and a dental infection. However, Harper Tar’s scary problemas would take a long time to sanar.

According to Jennifer Adorno, president of Furever Bully Love Rescue, she has never experienced a dog clinging to her so tightly. However, due to the conditioned status of these dogs, it is unclear whether this behavior is due to a feeling of comfort or a fear of fear. Harper, a rescue dog from Furever Bully Love Rescue, has been placed in foster care with Cheryl Kessler, who has already noticed significant positive changes in Harper’s behavior. Kessler reports that Harper now runs around outside and behaves like any other dog, which is a pleasure to watch.
