Coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Real Madrid has completed its 2024 summer transfer plans, despite the transfer window remaining open for another month. Ahead of the friendly against AC Milan in the U.S., Ancelotti told the media that the squad is set and no further signings or departures are expected
“No! Our squad is complete. Real Madrid will not sign anyone else… and I think no player will leave,” the Italian coach asserted.
This summer, Real Madrid made significant moves by acquiring Kylian Mbappe from PSG and Endrick from Palmeiras, both bolstering the attacking lineup. Additionally, Joselu was permanently signed from Espanyol after a loan spell but was later sold to Al-Gharafa in Qatar.
On the departure front, Real Madrid sold defender Rafa Marin to Napoli and saw captain Nacho join Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia on a free transfer. Notably, Toni Kroos retired, and Kepa returned to Chelsea after losing his spot to Lunin.
Spanish media reported that Real Madrid was keen to sign Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich this summer. However, facing Bayern’s firm demand of no less than €40 million, Los Blancos decided to halt negotiations and reached an agreement to sign the Canadian international for free next summer.
Currently, Real Madrid is on a tour in the U.S. Following the AC Milan match, Ancelotti’s team will face Barcelona on August 4 and Chelsea on August 7. They also have a chance to win their first title of the season in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on August 15.
Completing their summer transfer plans early demonstrates Ancelotti’s confidence in the current squad. With quality additions and a long-term strategy, Los Blancos are well-prepared for the new season.
