Hank, a young puppy, faced a heart-wrenching ordeal.

Once part of a family, he was cruelly abandoned in the woods with a broken leg.

Next to him, were the items that belonged to him: a bag of food that remained unopened, a cozy bed, and a few well-loved toys.

Left to fend for himself, Hank waited, hoping someone would notice him.

A kind-hearted Good Samaritan stumbled upon Hank, who sat motionless on his dog bed amidst the trees.

The local animal shelter received prompt notification about the incident. Subsequently, the Humans and Animals United organization posted an update on their Facebook page.:

“Only a puppy at 8 months old yet has been through so much. His tail started wagging once he knew he was being taken into the veterinary hospital. We cannot imagine why anyone would dump him with a broken leg. Left him with his bed, toys, and food in the woods. Whoever you are, please know that Hank is now safe and will never ever be hurt again.”

Despite his traumatic experience, Hank’s spirit remained unbroken.

Individuals who extended help to him were initially cautious, as they were concerned that his survival instincts might lead to aggressiveness.

However, Hank proved them wrong. Rosa Fond, the founder of Humans and Animals United, remarked:

“He was nothing but love from the moment they got him. Everybody says that he’s the sweetest dog.”

Upon examination, veterinarians discovered that Hank’s leg had been broken for over two weeks.

This explained why the young pup hadn’t moved from his bed; the pain was too overwhelming.

Tragically, Hank’s condition was so severe that there were discussions about euthanizing him.

However, intervention by the organization Humans and Animals United came into play, guaranteeing that Hank was provided with the necessary and essential care he rightfully deserved.

Before undergoing surgery, Hank needed to regain his strength.

It was unclear how long he had been without food, but he was emaciated when found.

Estimates suggest he might have been abandoned for around two weeks.

Amid this difficult time, the team members at the veterinary clinic provided Hank with an abundance of care and companionship, which played a significant role in his emotional recovery.
