Last week, the 61-year-old, six-time NBA champion collaborated with Novant Health, a healthcare company, to establish the Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic in Wilmington. This clinic aims to offer medical services to local residents who lack proper insurance coverage.

Expressing his deep connection to the city where he grew up, Jordan emphasized the importance of providing support to families in need, regardless of their financial status. He reflected on his own upbringing and the struggles his family faced, highlighting the significance of giving back to the community.

With this latest clinic, Jordan expands his philanthropic efforts beyond Charlotte, where he already operates two other clinics. He generously donated $10 million to ensure the establishment and operation of all three medical centers in his hometown of Wilmington.

Born at Cumberland Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, Jordan relocated to Wilmington with his family at the age of 5. Despite his immense success and wealth, he remains deeply rooted in his hometown, affirming that it will always hold a special place in his heart.
