There are rumors that JUVENTUS wants to sign Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.
The 22-year-old forward has been on loan at Getafe in La Liga this season.
He hasn’t played for Manchester United since January 2022 because he was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and attack. The charges were later dropped in February 2023.
The young player who came up through the United school was loaned out last summer, but his contract will still be valid until the end of the season.
Ineos may bring Greenwood back to Old Trafford next season. They bought a 27.7% stake in the Red Devils earlier this season.
But United’s managers might want to sell Greenwood this summer if they think they can get a good price.
The Times says that Juventus wants to get Greenwood this summer.
By their high standards, the Italian team has had another bad season. They are currently third in Serie A, 24 points behind leaders Inter Milan.
Juve is the third possible suitor to come forward. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid were also mentioned.
Greenwood would love to stay with Getafe for next season.
Greenwood’s future was talked about by boss Jose Bordalas before their game with Almeria over the weekend: “We haven’t talked about it yet.” The other loanees are in the same boat as him.
“Once the season is over, we’ll have to work on Mason to see if he can stay for another year.”
“It will depend on his club and the decision he makes.”
In Getafe’s 3-1 win over Almeria on Saturday, Greenwood hit a new goal in his career.
He scored twice and set up another goal for Jaime Mata, giving him eight goals and six assists in 28 La Liga games.
In the Premier League, he scored 10 goals and set up one more during the 2019–20 season, which was his previous best total for a season.
