Former NBA center Tyson Chandler has put his Newport Beach, CA, home up for rent, and he’s aiming to get $70,000 a month.
The place is just steps from the beach and sits on a double lot in one of the town’s most sought-after neighborhoods.
This elaborate, 4,587-square-foot, beachfront residence truly epitomizes luxurious coastal living. It has five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms and comes fully furnished. Each room serves up relaxing, panoramic views of the beach and Pacific Ocean.
Open and airy
The home’s open-concept layout on the first level features a gourmet kitchen plus living and dining areas.
In the kitchen, there’s an expansive center island and light-wood cabinets, whereas the living room has an opulent, marble fireplace. Meanwhile, the dining area has a cushioned, built-in bench and a wall of windows that leads to a patio outfitted with a Wolf barbecue, seating areas, and a fire pit.
There’s also an enticing lower level, which has a bar space, office, powder room, two laundry areas, and access to the two-car garage.
Plenty of room
Upstairs, there are three en suite bedrooms with walk-in closets and large windows. One has custom bunk beds, while another features hardwood floors.
A second set of stairs leads to another section of the house. This includes a second entertainment room and the primary bedroom suite, which is nicely outfitted with a hidden television and French doors that lead to a private balcony. The primary’s en suite bathroom boasts an oversized walk-in shower, a soaking tub, and gorgeous custom tile. This level also has a laundry room and plenty of storage space.
The fifth and final bedroom is on the top floor, adjacent to a luxe outdoor area with a bar, fireplace, lounge, and dining space that can host up to 12 people. There’s also a rooftop deck with a hot tub.
Fun in the sun
Additionally, this home has direct beach access and comes with beach equipment.
Interior designer Jeff Andrews, of Jeff Andrews Design, sourced the custom art and furniture for the property.
Chandler, 41, was drafted into the NBA, right out of high school, by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2001. He was then quickly traded to the Chicago Bulls, where he played until 2006. Besides the Bulls, he’s also played for the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Houston Rockets. He now works in player development.
