LeBron James’ epic luxury car collection: the NBA star loves Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Mercedes and Porsches – Shaquille O’Neal even once gave the millionaire petrolhead a Rolls-Royce for his birthday

LeBron James, the Hall of Fame NBA basketball player, boasts an estimated worth of US$500 million. While he’s known for being something of a frugal millionaire, he does own some luxury goods, from Louis Vuitton bags to everything Thom Browne, as seen on his social media pages.

What he does spend big on though is his collection of rare and luxurious cars. He owns 15 cars worth over US$2.5 million and counting, according to CelebAnswers. His fast and furious fleet includes supercars such as a Lamborghini Aventador, three Ferraris, a Rolls-Royce, two Maybachs and a Porsche. Well, why not when you are scoring an annual income of almost US$100 million including endorsements?

Here is a glimpse of the Los Angeles Lakers player’s automobile portfolio …

If you prefer your cars colourful, you might like what James has done with his Aventador, giving it a floral print possibly to match his Nike LeBron XI Everglades shoe – dubbed the “Reverse Kings Pride”. The Aventador – estimated to cost US$670,000 – is equipped with a 6.5 litre V12 engine. The supercar shoots the driver from 0 to 100km/h in three seconds and reaches a top speed of 300km/h.

The 599 is just one of three Ferraris James owns. According to Complex, James bought the model in 2009 for his 25th birthday. The sports car is equipped with a V12 engine. With 612hp under the bonnet, the Ferrari accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 345km/h.

James’ second horse is his Ferrari 458 Spider. Like his Lamborghini, his 458 Spider was given an individual paint job, getting a slightly darker shade of yellow than the original. This Ferrari accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds, with the V8 engine providing the necessary power to hit a top speed of 300km/h.

There’s not one, not two, but three Ferraris in James’ garage. His F430 comes with a V8 engine that accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 315km/h.

There are not only Italian cars in James’ collection. The basketball player also owns several Mercedes, one of them being the luxurious Maybach 57S.

His 57S model has a number plate that reads “KNG OF OH”, a tribute to his time with the Ohio-based Cleveland Cavaliers. The car is equipped with a V12 engine from Mercedes-AMG, which takes the driver from 0 to 100km/h in 5.1 seconds. The top speed is 275km/h.

What could be nicer than a Maybach? Exactly: two Maybachs. James also owns an S650, equipped with an unleaded premium V8 engine with two turbochargers. That gets you from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds, and on to a top speed of around 250km/h, making this Maybach probably the fastest luxury vehicle on the road right now.

Speaking of fast, James’ Porsche 911 Turbo S accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in an ultrarapid 2.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of almost 330km/h. The Turbo S series has a 3.8-litre six-cylinder with two turbochargers pushing out up to 640hp.

Of course, James’ garage wouldn’t be complete without a Rolls-Royce luxury dream car, representative of one of the most expensive car brands ever. In 2009, former teammate Shaquille O’Neal gave the then 25-year-old James a Rolls-Royce Phantom for his birthday. The luxurious car has 563hp and a V12 engine. The Phantom model goes from 0 to 100km/h in 5.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250km/h.
