Exhibiting incredible resilience, an injured puppy musters its last bit of strength to crawl to safety.

The little puppy had suffered a puncture wound on his rear and could no longer walk as a result of the injury. Despite the injury, the dog was determined to live.

He used the last of his strength to drag himself out of the road and to safety, but he couldn’t do much else. It’s likely that would’ve been the end of his story, but help arrived.

Rescuers gently scooped the little dog up, and despite his cries of fear and pain, they got him to a veterinarian. The medical team at Animal Aid Unlimited immediately gave him some pain medicine and prescribed him bed rest and plenty of “good food.”

It wasn’t clear how well the dog, who they named Twinkle, would recover from his injures, but they gave him the best fighting chance at walking again.

Twinkle was quite shy at first, not really trusting people or other dogs. He got plenty of love and attention from the Animal Aid Unlimited team, though, and he slowly started to come out of his shell.

As he started to heal and his mobility began to improve, he started to become more social and playful! It wasn’t long before he was running and playing with other dogs!

Now, he’s like an entirely different dog. He can walk and run like other dogs and is loving and playful. Hopefully he finds the perfect forever home.
