Homeless and Abandoned: Living On The Street For Month, She Was Did Into Critical Condition Due To Heartless People
We received a call. The skinny street dog a family had been feeding for months showed up bloody and beaten. We went to get her right way. Oh my god, this poor little thing. She needs all of your prayers and good vibes. We’re loading her up in the rescue Jeep now. We’ll put together a fundraising page for her in a few minutes and provide updates asap. We named her Jessie and we don’t know what happened yet, all we know is this angel needs swift help. Living on the streets is so hard. All we keep saying is “oh my goodness” “oh my gosh, baby” Freedom rides mean a lot of different things to a lot of different animals. The trauma center got her sedated right away and began shaving her and cleaning her wounds. Her temperature dropped under sedation, but it is back up now.
Her white and red blood cell counts are low, but her doctors are not surprised by that based on her infection. We’ll learn more when they get her x-rays done, but rest assured she is in great hands and getting the help she so desperately needs. Animals break our heart. They are such amazing little creatures who look to us for love and care. Seeing them in this condition hurts beyond words. We received Jessie’s x-rays. The bone below her eye, her orbital bone, is shattered.
Her teeth on the same side are all messed up. Many are broken. Although the trauma is all on one side of her face, she also has wounds on top of her head and behind her ears. It’s a mystery as to what exactly happened, but there are no bullet holes. And it does look like bite wounds, but it’s odd there aren’t any on her legs. You can even see just how swollen she is in these x-rays.
Day 3: We got to visit Jessie today! We were thrilled to see her strong enough to walk in! Oh my gosh, this is the sweetest little girl. She’s tiny, just over 20 pounds and not even a year old. Her swelling has gone down significantly, and just wait and see what happens when we offer her a stuffed baby to cuddle with. We can’t wait until she can come home to us, but until then she is being treated like gold! All of her doctors and nurses are wrapped around her little paw! Thank you for giving so she could stay in the 24 hour clinic for as long as she needs to.
Day 6: The moment we’ve been waiting for! WELCOME HOME JESSIE!! We brought Jessie home to Stray Rescue today. We can never ever thank her doctors and nurses enough for caring for her and getting her to this point with around the clock emergency care. Today she has nothing to do but get familiar with us and rest. Everyone that meets her says “Oh she’s sooo little!” This special girl got to lay in the sunshine, get some fresh air, and got tons of kisses.
Day 10: Although we selfishly want to keep Jessie here with us forever, we know that healing in a foster home is what is best for her. And guess what – one of her ER nurses that helped to save her life fell in love with her. She came to get her today and couldn’t believe how good she looks already!
Day 13: Our sweet Jessie is getting so much love and rest in her foster home.
Day 15: Jessie got to go to work with her Foster Mom today and say hello to all of her hero nurses that saved her life at the emergency clinic! They couldn’t believe how much better she looks! She loved seeing them, too.
