Cody Rhodes’ story was concluded by WWE at WrestleMania XL, but not before he had the opportunity to begin another. Although Cody Rhodes is now the WWE Universal champion, the road to fame was made much more difficult when he lost to The Rock on the first day of the Immortals showcase. There is that gap between the two contenders even after Rhodes won.
Something that was emphasised following WrestleMania XL on Monday Night Raw. As the Rock promised Rhodes he would be back, he offered him a mysterious present. Ever since, conjectures have been made on potential outcomes for the primary event of the next release. If a match between The Rock and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship was planned. The fight between The Rock and Roman Reigns, though, might also be the one with the most chance of happening.
The Rock and Roman Reigns engaged in a heated altercation on SmackDown during the journey to WrestleMania, following Cody Rhodes’ surrender of the Undisputed Universal title to The Rock. The people reacted negatively to this action. And that meant that the WWE had to go back to the original plan. That was the Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns match. However, the folks behind the Busted Open Podcast have finally shared their opinions. And they’ve explained why they think it would make the most sense for Rock and Reigns to square off.
Bully Ray and Mark Henry, two seasoned pros in professional wrestling, joined Dave LaGreca on the most recent episode of the Busted Open Podcast. The trio discussed AEW’s latest Forbidden Door PPV and everything else that took place in the pro wrestling universe. And it was during this discussion that the subject of the impending huge conflict was brought up. One between the top WWE face right now and the biggest name from the attitude era.
The trio discussed how the fight is inevitable as the Brahma Bull is the final boss that the Tribal Chief will have to face eventually. They said, “I mean, now does Rock and Roman happen at this year’s WrestleMania or does Rock and Roman happen at next year’s WrestleMania? But Rock and Roman will be the ones to conclude this tale. Vegas. What matters more than Las Vegas? It must be Vegas, Dave. Hollywood is just down the street from you.
They further added, “Don’t forget, we all thought that we’re going to see Rock and Roman at LA over a year ago, and that didn’t happen. Then we thought we were going to see it in Philadelphia, and that didn’t happen. When it comes to the bloodline, guys, in my opinion, I don’t think anything is guaranteed. I really don’t think anything is guaranteed. You think that they can’t fly by the seat of their pants? The whole Vegas aura is perfect for Rock and Roman, I truly believe.”
The WWE could not bring the match to fruition this year as according to reports, WWE’s creative team thought that stretching the story beyond the 40th edition of the great event would have damaged the eventual victory of Rhodes. Whom they profiled as the man who would carry the company on his shoulders in later years. The viral campaign #WeWantCody was a final push to convince both parties to move forward with the idea of The American Nightmare lifting the title at WrestleMania. So what do you think? Will the WWE book a fight between Reigns and The Rock at this WrestleMania? Let us know in the comments.
