Former NBA star and Olympic bronze medalist Amar’e Stoudemire is looking to net a sale on his glitzy Florida mansion after listing it Wednesday for $3.5 million.
The six-foot-10-inch center and forward—who most famously played for the Phoenix Suns and the New York Knicks during his professional basketball career—is set to take a loss on the spread, which he bought in 2011 for $3.7 million, records with PropertyShark show.
The gated compound in the Sunshine State’s Southwest Ranches neighborhood spans more than 2.3 acres and comprises a four-bedroom main house, a two-bedroom guest house and resort-like grounds, according to the listing with Kimberly Knausz, of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty.
“The home is located in an ultra-exclusive community with security and expansive lots that provide the utmost privacy for high profile residents,” Ms. Knausz said in an email. “This particular property features a nine-car garage, one of the most amazing closets I’ve ever seen and the perfect backyard for entertaining.”
Now with the Brooklyn Nets as a player development assistant, Mr. Stoudemire, 38, was reportedly wooed by the home’s oversized features, including its ultra-high ceilings, according to The Los Angeles Times, which first reported the listing.
As well as plenty of room overhead, the home also has a chef’s kitchen with four ovens and two dishwashers, a home cinema, two offices, a bar with a pool table, and a yoga room.
Plus there’s a porte-cochere, a pool and waterfall, a sweeping deck and a summer kitchen, according to the listing.
Along with the Suns and the Knicks, the six-time NBA All Star also played with the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat, as well as Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli league. A representative for Mr. Stoudemire could not immediately be reached for comment.
