Technical Specifications
It’s not simple to back up one of the most powerful players to ever step onto an NBA court. The design team used lightweight materials, and the venting on the upper is striated to look like shell veining to assist contain the player during explosive motions.
A lightweight mono-mesh strengthened by 360 degrees of zonal cables across the midfoot helps to support and secure the player over the footbed. The perforations on the medial Swoosh emblems improve ventilation.
To aid propulsion, the shoe has a Zoom Turbo unit in the forefoot and a bottom-loaded, 13-millimeter Zoom unit. A pillowy Cushlon 2.0 foam carrier and a TPU midfoot shank provide stability and additional pop for dynamic movements.

The LeBron 21 expands on the success of its predecessor by using premium lightweight materials modeled by the qualities of an oyster shell. The performance basketball sneaker was inspired by James’ daughter, Zhuri, and is designed to serve the future generation of hoopers.
“As we took our next steps from the LeBron XX, we were inspired by the way LeBron maintains his body and his game during the offseason,” says Jason Petrie, Lead Designer for the LeBron 21. “His trainer compares it to maintaining an F1 car.” Between races, you tune the automobile. You do not have to entirely rebuild the car. We wanted to keep some of the aspects he valued, like the Zoom Turbo unit, but enhance some of the upper finishes.”
