Hazel Renee and Draymond Green have a long history together. It had been quite some time since the actress first encountered the four-time NBA champion, if not before he had not even set foot on a professional basketball court. They met during their time as Michigan State University students, where she competed in track and field and he led the Spartans to two appearances in the Final Four and one Big Ten tournament victory.

“Athletes and classmates in the same theater course,” she explains to ESSENCE. Due to our pre-existing familiarity, we naturally found ourselves drawn to each other for group endeavors.

Despite this, the two did not develop a romantic relationship at that time. She would concentrate on her burgeoning acting career, which would eventually include a recurring role on Fox’s Empire, while he entered the NBA in 2012. Eleven years later, however, the two would reunite and go on their first date in Los Angeles. Simply put, it was memorable due to its sweetness.

“We spent the entire day at a rooftop pool and cabana, which remains one of our favorite activities to do together,” she continues. “It had been an exceptionally long time since our last encounter, so we spent the entire day together, caught up, and conversed. It was both extremely casual and representative of our relationship. “We are truly the best of friends.”

At last, on August 14, the two best friends in life and affection exchanged “I do” contracts. They posed for a breathtaking engagement session, organized by wedding planner Diann Valentine and captured by renowned wedding photographer Stanley Babb of Stanlo Photography, in honor of their forthcoming journey together. Both Renee and Green were captured in suits by Eaden Myles and gowns by Phylicia Ellis, respectively, which exuded an air of royalty.

“Our overarching vision mirrored the present state of affairs in which we find ourselves.” We feel significantly better than we did several years ago. Renee chuckles as she states, “Since we are more in tune with one another and connected, we wanted our photoshoot to reflect our style and natural boss energy.”

Additionally, they have built quite an existence together since their reunion. Cash is their joint-born daughter, and Draymond Jr. and Olive are offspring from their individual prior relationships. Furthermore, they are perpetual companions on journeys; this is their preferred activity jointly.

“We have truly experienced a great deal together, having traveled to so many different countries,” she explains. “We both enjoy ourselves tremendously and are extremely daring. “I adore the opportunity to travel the globe with him.”

She eagerly anticipates engaging in considerably more of that as their spouse. When asked in advance what she was most looking forward to about the ceremony on Sunday, she replied that it was creating lasting memories with the people who have supported them since the beginning.
