Dwyane Wade’s Miami Beach mansion with a Miami-themed basketball court sold for $22 million shortly after signing a $100 million contract extension
Wade and his wife Gabrielle Union are real estate investors. They sold their mansion in Sherman Oaks for $5.5 million in May after purchasing a 17,000-square-foot mansion in Hidden Hills for $17.9 million the previous year.
The $22 million deal is less than the $32.5 million he was seeking for the beachfront property, but it is more than double the $10.645,000 he paid for the property in 2010.
.
The property was converted into a 12,000-square-foot mansion with a wine cellar, movie theatre, pool, cabana, and private dock by the three-time NBA champion.
The two-story villa in the Mediterranean style has a long, covered entryway, a verdant courtyard, and rustic interiors with vaulted ceilings and wooden floors. Both levels feature dormer windows.
The mansion features six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and a master suite with a terrace and salon. The backyard has a spiral staircase, playground, and basketball court painted in the colours of the Miami Heat, for whom Wade played the majority of his NBA career.
.
Wade, 39, has been selected to 13 All-Star teams in 16 NBA seasons. He won three NBA championships and the scoring title in 2009 with the Miami Heat. He retired in 2019 and purchased a stake in the Utah Jazz this year.
Brett Harris of Douglas Elliman negotiated all sides.
