The incident happened in Udaipur city, Rajasthan state, India, a dog unfortunately fell into the hot asphalt that people had just spread on the street.
When the dog first jumped into the asphalt, it struggled, but the more it struggled and cried, the deeper it sank, causing the black asphalt to stick and cover its entire body.
No one discovered the incident so the asphalt gradually dried and hardened, turning the dog into a hard, motionless lump of black mud, waiting to die.
It used up all its last strength to cry out and luckily someone heard the dog’s cry and called for help.
Immediately, a group of volunteers working for the animal rescue organization Animal Aid Unlimited were present at the scene to rescue the dog.
When volunteers arrived at the scene they were completely shocked to find the dog in such a bad condition.
“We all saw the terrified look in the eyes of the poor dog, pleading for help as he was about to take his last breath because the asphalt was frozen solid. He was completely unable to move,” Claire Abrams told the BBC.
They used vegetable oil to soften the tar on the dog’s body and used their hands to remove the tar bit by bit from its fur. They did this, bit by bit, and it took them two days to remove all the tar from the dog’s body.
After much effort and perseverance from volunteers, the dog overcame the rare accident, gradually recovered, and regained its shiny brown fur.
The clip recording the moment the rescue team tried to save the dog’s life was posted online and quickly attracted the attention of many people.
Most people expressed admiration for the rescue group’s determination and love of animals.
