LeBron James had the chance to rub elbows with soccer legend Ronaldinho and basketball star Steph Curry during the All-Star Weekend. Ronaldinho presented each of them with personalized Barcelona jerseys and even took them on a tour of the Barcelona training facility. The NBA All-Star Celebrity Game 2017 was a sold-out event that featured prominent players such as Mark Cuban and Brandon Armstrong. The East team emerged victorious over the West squad with a score of 88-59. Prior to the start of the second half, the players participated in the mannequin challenge to keep the game lighthearted and prevent anyone from taking it too seriously. Despite Thursday’s policy change, tech insider Alex Heath reports that LeBron’s account still displays a blue checkmark, along with a few other celebrities who have chosen not to pay the $8 fee. It seems Twitter may be caving in to LeBron’s bluff.
Furthermore, Elon Musk allegedly offered to pay for LeBron’s required blue checkmark subscription, but the basketball player declined the offer. According to Heath, LeBron’s account shows that he paid for the subscription anyway, but it’s possible he wasn’t bluffing and is genuinely not concerned with maintaining his verified status on Twitter. In any case, LeBron emerged victorious over Elon Musk in this matchup.
