According to statistics in the report of the global animal welfare organization – Four Paws, in less than 2 months since the implementation and piloting of reporting the dog and cat meat trade in Quang Nam and Da Nang, there have been 153 reports were sent in from people across the country.

According to the report, there were 88 incidents involving dogs, 15 incidents involving cats and 50 incidents involving both. It is estimated that up to 1,737 dogs and 562 cats are affected by various forms of barbaric dog and cat meat trade.
Statistics from 153 reports sent include 89 reports coming from Quang Nam and Da Nang, the rest are from other provinces and cities across the country.
The Dog and Cat Meat Trade Reporting Tool is a web-based system that allows people to report dog and cat meat trade activity to Four Paws. All reports are stored on Four Paws’ database and sender information is completely confidential.
Four Paws will compile and authenticate data, and compile a comprehensive report to send to local authorities, as well as Government agencies to demonstrate the risk of the dog meat trade and cat, thereby suggesting a solution to this situation.
