A severely injured dog, highly distrustful of people, was difficult for rescuers to secure. However, the dog began to show unconditional devotion to the rescue group members who did not back down even after being bitten.
HOPE FOR PAWS, a Los Angeles-based animal rescue group, responded to the scene early in the morning after receiving a call about a severely injured stray dog.
“I spotted a white dog near where I heard the caller. The blanket with the American flag pattern is designed to be used as a bed.”
“As I approached the barking dog gently while tossing food to him, I noticed that a portion of his hind limb was missing.”
Although he responded to the food, he would become frightened and gradually disappear into the undergrowth.
If someone moves, he would flee in the bush, so Loreta, a protective member, chose to sit down and wait calmly. There is no impatience here.
“After 45 minutes, I was finally able to ɡet food directly from my hand. Then I ѕпаtсһed him by the nape of his neck!”
Perilous раtһ. Loreta appears to have been gently Ьіtteп multiple times, yet she never lets go. The camera afterwards displays a row of Ьіte marks on the finger. It was painful…
If someone moved, he would run away in terror, so Loreta, a member of the protection team, decided to sit and wait calmly, without showing impatience.
“After 45 minutes, I was finally able to give him food directly from my hand. Then I grabbed him by the nape of his neck!”
The process was dangerous. Loreta was bitten several times, but she never let go. The camera then shows a row of bite marks on her finger. It was painful…
“I snuck up on him, he bit me, we struggled, but everything is okay now! I named him *Washington*.”
Despite the severe injuries to his leg, Washington remained upbeat on the way to the shelter. He even wagged his tail while on the shelter’s exam table, displaying obvious joy throughout his body.
“I shaved his head, gave him a shower, and made him fluffy. I lost the tip of his foot, but the rest was saved.”
When he sees the rescue team members, Washington smiles from ear to ear.
After being discharged from the shelter, Washington was sent to a temporary holding facility while he waited for a foster family. Watch the video to see how he interacts with the other dogs at the shelter and forms a special bond with Loreta.
