The rescue team of the Cane League of Trani came across one of the most heartbreaking situations of last year. A man was travelling between Trani and Barletta in Italy when he noticed something strange.

A puppy was found inches away from a broken suitcase on the side of the road. The way the suitcase had been smashed reflected the terrible situation this furry companion was in.

“How is it possible that someone would do something like this to a vulnerable being?” one person lamented on social media.

Everything seemed to indicate that he would be placed in that folder to be disposed of. He managed to escape, although he seemed tired and without vitality.

The man who discovered him called the rescue team, who received him and treated him immediately. The young man was in a precarious state.

He suffered from gastrointestinal problems and, since he did not trust anyone, getting him the help he needed seemed impossible.

“The results of his tests are simply astonishing. There is anemia, hyperparathyroidism, liver failure and necrosis of certain tissues. According to a Foundation official, his fatty intestinal system is blocked by stones and foreign skin.

Many people would give up on such a difficult situation, but this sad furry creature deserved to be happy.

For weeks he was quite weak, but over time he developed the ability to get up and eat on his own.

Despite his fragile condition, he was given the name Kei, and his biggest problem was restoring faith in humanity.

Little by little he allowed himself to trust people more. He seemed to know that the treatment of the veterinarians made him stronger and stronger.
