The couple rescued abandoned dogs but did not expect to receive a collection of dogs in return

A couple loves the dogs so much that they have acquired 19 at a time to give them a second chance at life, and will pay the vet’s fees even if they are rehomed.

Chris and Mariesa Hυghes have rescued more than 600 senior dogs and those with special needs throughout what they say is their goal of giving all animals the best life possible.

By participating, you have to improve the lot of those who have given up, left themselves alone, and now live with more than twelve dogs in their home.

The house is carefully prepared for you to live a pleasant life. while Chris and Mariesa supported a non-profit company called Mr. Mo Project that helps dogs find loving homes and pay their medical bills for life.

Chris, 34, initially grew up in High Wycombe, Bυckiпghamshire, but moved to the US when he was only three years old.

When he got married, Chris already had six dogs and Mariesa had two, which brought the family to a total of eight immediately, but it didn’t stop there.

Mariesa, 40, told TeamDogs: “I have always wanted to rescue dogs since she was young. I had my first dog rescued from the streets when I was nine years old. Chris has been the same way.

“We now accept specialized dogs for the purpose of rehoming them.”

Even though they both have full-time jobs, they co-fund homes where they love the dogs and pay their medical bills.

The Mr. Mo project was inspired by Chris’s dog, Moses, who sadly passed away.

He said: “Moses was an old Pittie who was thrown into the shelter for being too old. We ended up having it for 22 months before dying from the doctor’s malignant tumor.

“During the last few months with him, we realized how expensive it was to take care of an elderly and sick dog, so after his death, we decided to undertake the task of finding homes for older dogs, paying for all the vet care. iпaria. and open fantastic houses that had all the love but extra money.”

Many shelters are contacted by Chris and Mariesa because they accept more specific dogs. The couple adopts sick dogs with medical problems, as well as dogs that other people can’t have due to medical expenses.

The couple’s effort involves a large collection of funds to be able to care for the dogs. Last year he spent $700,000 (£508,536) on veterinary care.

Chris said: “Shelters are called, we take in the dogs and give them all the financial attention and finally find them the ideal foster home where they will live the rest of their lives. However, we are the ones who take care of that medical care for the rest of our lives.”

The couple’s house has everything ready for the dogs to live happily. It has a large fenced rear garden so that the dogs can play freely, and at the same time it has its own kennels with its harnesses. It offers a hydrotherapy treadmill and a laser treatment machine to work on joints and wounds.

Chris said: “All of our dogs have special requirements and it’s much cheaper to have everything in your home.

“The feeding time is fast, it takes about 30 minutes. We have dogs that are underfed because they have poor diets or poor health. Some dogs can become less aggressive towards food, and we have dogs with different diets.

“We also have some really old dogs here. We have υп Chihυahυa, 22 years old, and υп Pυg, 20 years old.”

The 19 dogs are of different ages, breeds and suffer from different disabilities, which, according to Mariesa, makes their care more difficult.

She said: “It’s bitter because it’s not always dreamy, it can be extremely hectic, but it’s incredible to see all the work you’ve done and to see all these adorable dogs being loved, who deserve the second chance.” .

“But the least ones are incredibly low because there are dogs you can save, it really shocks you. It’s also incredibly tidy all the time.

“I would like to say ‘we’ll get more dogs,’ but I also didn’t imagine that we would get two additional operations quickly enough.

“Seeing your changes makes all the effort and pain worth it. It is incredibly challenging, but it is definitely the passion of this life.”
