A lovable dog named Jake is finally getting the medical attention he deserves after his previous owners neglected his massive salivary tumor for six long years. Despite being cherished by his former family, they failed to seek medical help when his face started to swell, but now the Long Way Home rescue group is stepping in to provide the care he needs.
As per the organization, Jake, the lovable indoor dog, has been dealing with a salivary tumor for a period of six years. His owners speculate that it may have been caused by a snake bite. Despite his health condition, Jake is a well-behaved and trained dog who gets along well with other dogs and is even skilled in shaking hands.
Following Jake’s discovery in a secluded part of Texas, Cribs for Canines swiftly intervened to persuade his family to relinquish their ownership rights. This was done so that Jake could be provided with the necessary veterinary care that he needs. Currently, Jake is receiving treatment in Waco and has already experienced significant relief following the draining of a large amount of fluid from his body. This information was disclosed by the organization.
We express our gratitude to the amazing staff at the Texas Animal Medical Center in Waco for taking excellent care of Jake. Dr. Lide and his team have been successfully treating him by extracting 1200cc of salivary fluid from his neck. It’s incredible to see the difference it has made, and you can clearly witness it in the last two photos.
After six long years, Jake finally regained the ability to turn his head. It was a simple feat, but one that brought immense relief and joy. He’s now eating and excreting normally, with a positive attitude and overall good health, as reported by the agency.
While there is no guarantee of Jake’s complete recovery, a team of dedicated individuals is putting in all their efforts to provide him with the best possible chances. Stay updated on their progress by following his rescuers on Facebook.
